Gilad de Vries was appointed VP of Digital Media in Carmel Ventures. This is a new role in Carmel, intended to allow the fund to continue and expand its contacts in the digital media field and increase the assistance it provides to its portfolio companies in the realm of the internet, mobile and digital media.
Rina Shainski, general partner in Carmel Ventures, said: “Carmel is characterized by giving an added value to its portfolio companies. Gilad had great input in this area since he joined Carmel, and we are sure that, in his new role, he will be able to assist our portfolio companies to strengthen the attitude towards leading players in the digital media field.”

De Vries (36) joined Carmel in 2006, and has acted as an investment manager in the fund. Prior to that he was a senior manager in Comverse for four years. Before working for Comverse, he was an operations and R&D manager in the start up Odigo, which was bought by Comverse.
