October 30th will see the Israeli game developing community come together under the Israel GameUnConf event, sponsored by Yossi Vardi and hosted by IBM Israel at the IBM House in Petach Tikva’s Kiryat Arye.
According to the organizers, “Israel GameUnConf is a free and open event for professionals working in the Israeli gaming scene: programers, artists, developers and designers. Both those who currently work in the industry and those seeking to join it are invited.” The event’s itinerary is not predetermined, and the list of lectures is based on who actually shows up and is decided on on the day of the conference.
The people behind the conference plan on providing anyone who has anything to contribute with a stage to present on. The organizers promise that “in light of last year’s phenomenal success, this year will feature a larger gaming section, some of the best speakers in the Israeli gaming industry, and, of course, pizza!”
Intrigued? Want to check out the guest list? Want to BE on the guest list? Anyone can – all you have to do is sign up on the cons website and add your self to the “attending” page. StartUpMania is already there. We even scoped out the list and found a local start-up we’re quite fond of, mostly due to the fact it was built with the help of Ruby on Rails. It’s called SaveAnAlien.com and was founded by Roy Man. If you feel like adopting an alien, give that a shot after sigining up for the con. It’s fun and free.
