Cellogic, an Israeli start-up based out of Mevo Modi’im, founded by Itamar Wesibrod and Avi Elias which enjoys the venture capital fund of Yossi Vardi, released today the first beta version of its FlyScreen application for the Google Android platform.
This is the first Cellogic release for the Android, after releasing it’s application for the Symbian platform 3 months ago.
Cellogic’s FlyScrenn turns a cellphone’s screen to a constantly updating RSS viewer even when the Android is lying on the table, unused. In essence, Cellogic, much like the previous efforts of start-up company Celltic, upgrades the phones “dead” screen, and turns it into a constant, streaming news source, rather than a humdrum time and date display.
“We call it ‘Zero Click Access’,” Weisbrod says in a StartUpMania interview. “The option to see updates and at any minute click on something that catches your eye saves a lot of time users usually waste on idle web surfing.” According to Wesibrod, FlyScreen will hit the Google Marketplace in a month going for the unbelievable price of absolutely free.
Weisbrod even promises that the new version will be compatible with the full Facebook API and several other content suppliers and thus, Android users will be able to receive constant, streaming updates nonstop directly to their mobile device, even when it’s just sitting there.
